A New York Criminal Court judge Friday ordered rapper Foxy Brown to stand trial in July for an alleged assault on two nail salon employees.

Judge Gerald Harris set Brown's trial for July 17 and extended orders of protection for the alleged victims, TMZ.com reported.

The rapper, born Inga Marchand, was charged with misdemeanor assault for allegedly hitting one worker in the face and kicking the other when they tried to eject her from the closed salon in August 2004.

Brown had been expected to plead guilty to a misdemeanor in December but Judge Melissa Jackson interrupted the proceeding, saying she did not like Brown's attitude.

Jackson accused the rapper of making faces and acting disrespectful of the court and ordered her handcuffed, which resulted in Brown striking a court officer.

After being threatened with jail, the rapper apologized but her guilty plea was never entered.
