South African songbird, Yvonne Chaka Chaka arrives in the country tomorrow, for the International Women Conference to be held in Kigali from Thursday 22 to Friday 23 and will be performing on Friday evening at Kigali Serena Hotel, according to organisers. FFRP president Judith Kanakuze confirmed yesterday that Chaka Chaka, famously known as the Princess of Africa will be coming for the conference and is set to perform for invited guests on Friday evening.

"She has confirmed and will be coming for the conference. She will also be performing at Serena for invited guests on Friday night," Kanakuze told The New Times.

Dubbed the "Princess of Africa", Chaka Chaka has been at the forefront of South African popular music for 20 years. Songs like "I'm Burning Up", "I'm in Love with a DJ", "I Cry for Freedom", "Makoti", "Motherland" and the ever-popular "Umqombothi" ensured her stardom.

Probably one of the many successful women musicians on the continent, Chaka Chaka has remained a darling of many not only in Africa but across the world. The organisers of the two-day women conference to commemorate the tenth anniversary of the parliamentary forum in Rwanda think she could prove a big hit in a country like Rwanda where culture is rated highly.
