Step aside Pavarotti and company and welcome Three Tswana Tenors. In what could be the boldest move by a Botswana record company, Small House Records has signed a classical music group, Three Tswana Tenors.
The trio, Setso Kgabung, Boyce Batlang and Tshepiso Gaborone have thrilled classical music followers in the country for several years now.
They started singing together in church with Gaborone Youth Singers Choir. They have made Maitisong their happy hunting ground where they have performed to full houses on numerous occasions.
Their mentors include the fabulous Reggie Kopi who recently re-recorded the national anthem and longtime Maitisong musical director, David Slater. Plans are already underway to start recording their debut album that will include several songs to be done in Setswana.
