3rd WORLD CONFERENCE ON
MUSIC & CENSORSHIP
Professional musicians, scholars, and composers from 22 countries met at the third Freemuse World Conference. Over two intensive days, they documented how music censorship is being implemented in countries all over the world
There were reports from Cuba in the west to Indonesia and China in the east. From Belarus in the north to Zimbabwe and South Africa in the south.
The conference attracted media from North America, Africa, Europe and Asia, and was covered heavily in Turkey by CNN, BBC and several major newspapers.

Broadcasters from North America and Europe are planning to follow up on the Freemuse conference by dedicating a series of programmes to freedom of expression in music.
Several musicians taking part in the conference similarly have already initiated various collaborations.
The Freemuse staff documented the conference and will in the near future place several video interviews and reports here at www.freemuse.org. Click on the pictures in the column on the right or use the link list below in order to see interviews, photos, and media coverage from the conference.
