The Spirit of Travailing prayer is upon us

The Spirit of Travailing prayer is upon me (us)

I have been stirred this week. The Spirit of Travailing prayer is upon me (us). Travail for our nation, neighborhood, ministries, families and our lives. Please fell free to pass this info forward.

I have been stirred this week to seek God in new ways  Romans 11:33 Have you ever come on anything quite like this extravagant generosity of God, this deep, deep wisdom? It's way over our heads. We'll never figure it out.  Is there anyone around who can explain God?    Anyone smart enough to tell him what to do?

Tuesday night, I woke up in screaming travail. I don't want to die without leaving a indelible mark upon the church and world. In the name of Jesus, I will travail and leave an Impact upon my life, neighborhood, cities and the nations. I was immediately reminded of the accounts of the great Revivalist like Charles Finney:

  • In his memoirs Charles Finney wrote: "It was soon seen that the Lord was aiming at the conversion of the highest classes of society. My meetings soon became thronged with that class…As the revival swept through the town, and converted the great mass of the most influential people, both men and women, the change in the order, sobriety, and morality of the city was wonderful." Charles P. Bush, a native of Rochester converted during the revival, later remarked:"The whole community was stirred. Religion was the topic of conversation in the house, in the shop, in the office and on the street…Grog shops were closed, the Sabbath was honored, the sanctuaries were thronged with happy worshippers…There was a wonderful falling off of crime. The courts had little to do, and the jail was nearly empty for years afterward." Historians say of the Rochester revival that "the place was shaken to its foundations." More than 40 of the new converts entered the ministry and at least 1,500 revivals broke out in other towns as a result of Rochester. To his credit, Charles Finney gave God all the glory: "This is a great and glorious work -- sufficient to fill the hearts of God’s people with humility and gratitude, and their mouths with thanksgiving!"

If any of you are stirred please review the following:

  • I received an email from a friend at Drew Seminary. These sentiments and feelings were confirmed by this email  (James W. Goll >>click here<< The email included a quote from Charles Spurgeon:  Spurgeon’s day, what can be said about our own? After years of observing the ravages of the serpent’s hold, it is time for a company of anointed prophetic intercessors to come forth and lay hold of God’s promises for our generation..
