 The Hierarchy of Doing Right

Good people encounter tough choices. In other words, there is a hierarchy of right versus right choices. There is a hierarchy of right choices; there is a continuum of corresponding rewards. Matthew 6:33  (Amplified Bible) 33But seek (aim at and strive after) first of all His kingdom and His righteousness (His way of doing and being right), and then all these things taken together will be given you besides. The problem you solve determine the rewards you receive. The reward for seeking God, is God himself and His kingdom. God Is a Rewarder of Those Who Diligently Seek Him Heb. 11:6. Kingdom Expediency may mean, His Kingdom priorities measured by Matthew 22 Love God and Neighbor. In summary, His word , will, and way must line up in agreement. Kingdom priorities will bring tension to:

  • Truth versus loyalty

  • Individual versus community

  • Short-term versus long-term

  • Justice versus mercy

Secondly, doing the “ right thing” may be logical but it may not be reasonable. People’s ways are right in their own eyes. As it is written,  EVERY WAY OF A MAN IS RIGHT IN HIS OWN EYES. Tithing may not seem logical,  but it is reasonable in the Word-Logos ( Logikovß). Logikovß, Logikos, log-ik-os' . pertaining to speech or speaking , pertaining to the reason or logic, spiritual, pertaining to the soul, agreeable to reason, following reason, reasonable, logical.

There is season for doing right. Today! Hebrews 3:15 (Amplified Bible) 15Then while it is [still] called Today, if you would hear His voice and when you hear it, do not harden your hearts as in the rebellion [in the desert, when the people provoked and irritated and embittered God against them].( Hebrews 4:7 (Amplified Bible) 7Again He sets a definite day, [a new] Today, [and gives another opportunity of securing that rest] saying through David after so long a time in the words already quoted, Today, if you would hear His voice and when you hear it, do not harden your hearts

The Power of right choices is developed through practice. Your choices are right choices if they:

Ø       Daily Recalculate The Hierarchy  of Right. Philippians 4:8 (Amplified Bible) 8For the rest, brethren, whatever is true, whatever is worthy of reverence and is honorable and seemly, whatever is just, whatever is pure, whatever is lovely and lovable, whatever is kind and winsome and gracious, if there is any virtue and excellence, if there is anything worthy of praise, think on and weigh and take account of these things [fix your minds on them].

Ø       Prioritize Kingdom principles first

Ø       Recognize  the tension and balance between the choices “right versus right

Ø       Balances short term and long term consequences

Ø       Recognize the Golden rule: Matthew 7:12 (Amplified Bible)  12So then, whatever you desire that others would do to and for you, even so do also to and for them, for this is (sums up) the Law and the Prophets.

Ø       Do Good. Galatians 6:10 (Amplified Bible) 10So then, as occasion and opportunity open up to us, let us do good morally] to all people [not only being useful or profitable to them, but also doing what is for their spiritual good and advantage]. Be mindful to be a blessing, especially to those of the household of faith [those who belong to God's family with you, the believers].

Hierarchy  Practicum:

Make a daily hierarchal List:

Be a opportunity manager. Solve tomorrow’s issues today. Make a list of problems. Think of everything you need to do and write it under one of the headings according to how urgent or important it is. Prioritize your Tasks according to the most urgent solvable issues for the day.

Recalculate Hierarchy  Practicum

Recreate a to do list every night and do all the things on it the next day
