As a result of the 2005 State of the Black Union, the new book “The Covenant with Black America ” was created. The book analyzes ten issues facing Black communities and suggests strategies for civic action. Tavis Smiley calls The Covenant “a love letter from Black America to educate ourselves on the issues we all know exist in our communities and then to challenge and hold each other accountable to fix them.”

On Tuesday, February 28th at 7:00 pm The Concord Baptist Church of Christ and The Covenant with Black America will host the North East’s only Town Hall meeting with Tavis Smiley.  The meeting will feature several prominent leaders of the Black community including Dr. Cornel West (others to be announced).
