Namibia: Unam Choir to Go Abroad

The University of Namibia Choir has accepted an invitation to participate in the International University Music Festival in Belfort, France, from May 26 to 28, 2007. Prior to participating in this prestigious event, the Choir will perform in Ghent, Belgium, between May 21 and 25, following numerous invitations from the Tinnenpot Theatre.

As part of its fund-raising efforts to make this trip a reality, the choir has organized three concerts to take place from the April 25 to 27 at Studio 77, behind the Warehouse.

Members of the public also stand a chance of wining a return flight ticket at a cost of only N$200, amongst other prizes listed below:

First Prize: Two SAA return flight tickets to Paris;

Second Prize: Two nights stay-over at the Windhoek Country Club Resorts and Casino;

Third Prize: Two nights at the Kalahari Sands Hotel and Casino.

Prizes With the compliments of South African Airways, the Windhoek Country Club Resorts and Casino, and the Kalahari Sands Hotel and Casino.

Raffle tickets are available from all choir members, Universal Sound, Colors Boutique Wernhil, and Performing Arts Department. The draw takes place on Apil 27 at Studio 77, during the concert performance on that day.

While maintaining a proud tradition of predominantly African choirs, the UNAM Choir aims to include various music styles around the globe, as part of its mission to explore and master a challenging range of modern choral expressions.
