Black Church Music good music directors situation in some African-American churches.

Dear Bob Faw:

Thank you for your Religion and Ethics, cover story, Black Church Music Click here: Black Church Music good music directors situation in some African-American churches.   Their are several reasons why churches can not find Church Musicians. I believe that the church music infrastructure may have to retool. Private and public music education must equip 20th and 21st  (orientated) musicians for the demands of the 21st century. The retooling adjustment period may include continuing music education (formal and informal) for 20th and 21st century musicians.
  • new styles,  new electronic sequencing options
  • review of significant historical anthems, hymn spirituals and songs
  • dialog between 20th and 21st musicians
  • creating an electronic data base of church musicians and music styles
The present dilemma is partly due to the following music demands and conflicts in and outside the church music community.
  • Competency
  • Compatibility
  • Character
  • Compensation
