50 Most Influential Churches

FOUR BLACK CHURCHES MAKE AMERICA’S 50 MOST INFLUENTIAL LIST: Jakes and
Long recognized

      The Church Report released the 2006 list of most influential churches in America.  Bishop T.D. Jake’s Potter’s House is in the top 10 at #8; New Birth Missionary Baptist Church

      (Bishop Eddie Long) is #36; led by Dr. Anthony Evans, Oak Cliff Bible Church in Dallas, TX is #44 and Windsor Village Methodist in Houston, TX pastored by Kirbyon Caldwell is at #49. 

The Church Report recently released its list of Top 50 Most Influential Churches in America. No big shock that Saddleback and Willow Creek are numbers 1 and 2. Bethlehem Baptist Church (John Piper) is no. 19, and Mars Hill Church (Mark Driscoll) is no. 23.

The 2005 survey was sent to 2,000 church leaders with the goal of ranking the nation’s fastest growing churches and churches with more than 2,000 weekend attendance. The 127 churches nominated for the 50 Most Influential Churches survey were located in 32 states and represented 27 affiliation groups and/or denominations. The term affiliation is used to include networks of unaffiliated, independent churches
