Bill Yount: "A Father's Day Message:
The Secret Power Of Great Men--
'MY DADDY LOVES ME!'"
When I was a child, my father drank heavily at times for years, and I felt like I could never please him. A few years ago, my father passed away. One of the last times I saw him in the hospital, I left his bedside and was walking toward the door when I heard my father say, "Bless you, Bill." It was as though everything within me was waiting my whole life to hear those words from my father! I literally felt something in the Spirit break off of me from my head to my toes, and I have never been the same since! I know a mother's love and prayers for her children are powerful, but nothing on earth can ever take the place of a father saying to his children, "I love you! And I bless you!"
"Wheaties May Be the Breakfast of Champions, But Eating Wheaties Doesn't Make You a Champion!"
I was eating my Wheaties one morning while looking at Tiger Woods' face on the front of the Wheaties box. On the back it told of Tiger's upbringing as a child. When Tiger was just a baby sitting in a high chair in the kitchen, Tiger Woods' father was so golf crazy, that he would stand in the kitchen swinging golf clubs and hitting golf balls with Tiger watching. When Tiger was old enough to hold a baby's rattle, he began to imitate his father's golf swing! This principle is so powerful. Jesus told us the secret of His own success on His earthly mission--John 5:19, "I only do those things I see My Father doing!" At three years of age, Tiger Woods made history playing in a nine-par golf tournament, and he began to star on television.
As far back as Tiger Woods could remember hearing anyone's voice, it was the voice of his father whispering in his ear saying, "Tiger, you can shake the world! There is nothing you cannot do!" You know the rest of the story--how Tiger Woods is now a household name in golf. He has been named number one in recent consecutive years. Tiger recently won a tournament, and wept because his father was sick and couldn't be there to celebrate with him. His father passed away just recently. May I tell you the real secret of Tiger Woods becoming a champion? It wasn't his golf swing. He knew a family secret..."My daddy loves me!"
"This is My Beloved Son, in Whom I Am Well Pleased!"
When I watched "The Passion of The Christ" movie, it left me wondering how Jesus really made it through everything. The Bible clearly tells us that power infused Him before His ministry even started. He came up out of the Jordan River, and the Heavens opened over Him. It must have been astoundingly important for the Heavens to open that day. As the Heavens opened, He heard the voice of His Father saying:
"This is My beloved Son in whom I am well pleased!" Matthew 3:17
After hearing these few short words, nothing in this world ever stopped Jesus from fulfilling His purpose and destiny.
The wilderness test could not touch Him. The devil comes at the end of the testing and says, "If you are really the Son of God...." In other words, the devil was thinking, "I sure hope you don't remember what your Father spoke to you about how crazy He is over you, if you do, I don't stand a chance of stopping you!" Jesus paraphrasing said, "Devil, you may as well get behind Me...I know My Daddy loves
Me!"
"The Cross Turns into A Launching Pad!"
The cross couldn't stop Jesus either. It turns into a launching pad to fulfill His purpose of being born and coming to earth. The grave couldn't hold Him either. For three days His body lays in a tomb while He takes a missionary journey into hell, and preaches, setting the captives free! See when you receive a father's blessing, nothing in this world can stop you from fulfilling your destiny! After three days, death starts thinking this thing over and starts talking to the grave. Death says to the tomb, "Maybe we ought to let Him go for 'His Father is coming to raise Him up!'"
After my son Joel completed his seventh year in school, I attended an awards assembly, in which they give out those certificates for brains! About halfway through the assembly, I was still hoping to hear my son's name mentioned for something. The teacher then stopped and began to talk about this certain award that goes to just one student in the whole class for the year. This one special award, goes to the student who reflects and imitates the character of Jesus Christ in the classroom in every day life, and on the playground. She went on to say that this special award goes to Joel Yount! I wanted to shout, "This is my beloved son, in whom I am well pleased!" As he received this award, his eyes connected with mine, and it became a "forever" moment in our lives!
"Joseph Knew A Family Secret"
Joseph was Daddy's favorite from the start, and it got him into trouble. I now know what got him through his experience in the pit, the prison, and into the palace! He not only knew God was with him, but he knew a family secret..."My daddy loves me!" When you inherit a father's love for you, it gets way down inside of your bones and marrow. In Genesis 50:25, Joseph told his family, "When you come up out of Egypt, take my bones with you." There was still something precious in the bones of Joseph! Guess what it was?..."Daddy loves me!"
"Those Dead Bones of Elisha Had Something in Them!"
Elisha wanted that double portion from Elijah. Elijah said, "When you see me going up, you can have it." As Elijah was going up in a whirlwind and chariot of fire, Elisha began to shout, "My father, my father!" and the mantle dropped down upon him! Elisha knew he had a spiritual father who loved and believed in him, and that relationship gave him twice the power in his life and ministry through miracles! Later when Elisha died, they threw his body into a cave. After awhile, a war breaks out and an enemy soldier gets killed. His body was thrown into the same cave where Elisha's bones lay. For some reason, when the dead enemy soldier's body hits those "dead" bones of Elisha, the dead soldier comes running back out of that cave! I think I know why. Those dead bones of Elisha had something inside of them crying out..."My daddy loves me!" A father's blessing puts resurrection life inside of your bones!
"The Jewish People Live the Secret of Generational Blessings!"
The children of Jewish families (many who don't believe Jesus is their Messiah), are still blessed because of a Biblical principal that works for anyone who applies it. When their children get about twelve to fifteen years of age, they have what is called a "Bar mitzvah." They invite friends and relatives and hold a huge ceremony--the largest ceremony next to the child's wedding day. During this ceremony, the earthly father stands, blesses, and speaks publicly his love and affirmation to his child. It seems that something in the spirit is released, and that child begins to be commissioned into his purpose and destiny. I have been in prison ministry for twenty-three years throughout the state of Maryland. I never met one Jewish boy or one Jewish man in prison in all those years! The percentage of Jewish men in prison is only about one percent nation wide (about one out of a thousand inmates). Most of them grew up knowing..."My daddy loves me!"
"It's Never Too Late to Receive an Earthly Father's Blessing!"
I sense many reading this have been raised with an earthly father who loved you, but somehow failed to communicate his love and affirmation to you. You have grown up, but there is still an unanswered cry coming up out of you... "Daddy, where are you?"
Let Me Pray Over You
Being an earthly father of three children and a man of God through the blood of Christ, I would like to pray right now over you to release an "earthly father's blessing" upon your life. By faith, I am going to stand in proxy (in the place of your earthly father), and lay my hand upon your head and speak an earthly father's blessing. Listen carefully for many of you have never heard these words before...
"WE BREAK THAT ORPHAN SPIRIT OFF OF YOU IN JESUS NAME!"
"I love you! You are so special! You were born to shake the world! There is nothing you cannot do! I am so proud of you! You are my beloved son, in whom I am well pleased! You are my beloved daughter...You are daddy's favorite little girl in all the world! I love you! I bless you coming in and going out. I bless you in the market place, in the city, and in the field. I bless your wallets and purses, that they will never know what lack is! I bless the fruit of your loins and your children's children. In Jesus Name, we break that generational curse of an orphan spirit off of you, and your family that tells you you don't belong, and those yet to be born, that they will be born crying..."My daddy loves me!" I cancel every negative curse words ever spoken against you in Jesus Name. I bless you with an earthly father's blessing that cancels those curses! As the Father has sent me, so I send you into your purpose and destiny. And nothing will stop you now! You will go the distance to finish what God has called you to. I bless you and I love you...I love you...I love you! I love you! And I bless you with an earthly father's blessing!"
Tell someone..."My daddy loves me!"
"Your Children Aren't Wiping Your Kisses Off...They Are Rubbing Them In!"
I still pray often with my son who is fourteen years old. At night before he goes to bed, I tell him I love him, and I kiss him on the cheek. I notice he always wipes the kiss off. But the next night I pray for him, tell him I love him, and kiss him again. And again he wipes it off! One night the Lord told me, "He is not wiping your kisses off, he is rubbing them in! And one day when he needs to really know it the most, he will remember..."My daddy loves me!"
Fathers, tell your children you love them and bless them, and kiss them no matter how old they are!
