South Africa: Chose a Band for 50 Cent Tour Concert

South Africa: Chose a Band for 50 Cent Tour Concert

Cape Town

Virgin Mobile is inviting the public to choose who should be the opening act for 50 Cent Tour in South Africa in early-May. Send an SMS to 34977 followed by BAND and the name of your favourite local, hip-hop band.

This is an opportunity for a local hip-hop band to share a stage with the best-selling hip hop/rap artist in the world, the American rapper 50 Cent, together with his G-Unit crew when they perform twice only in South Africa: at the Coca Cola Dome in Johannesburg on 1st May 2008 and at the Belville-Velodrome in Cape Town on 3rd May.

Nicholas Maweni from Virgin Mobile said, "Virgin Mobile wants the public to tell us who they want to hear live. At Virgin Mobile we believe that consumers should have choices!" Here's a list of potential contenders: Tuks, KoldProduct, HHP and ProKID...? All SMS entrants stand a chance to win double VIP tickets and even get a chance to meet the man himself... 50 Cent (born Curtis James Jackson III in 1976 in Queens).

The band with the most votes will be announced on Tuesday, 29 April 2008 and the band will have less than 48 hours to practise, pack up and get ready for the performance of their lives. SMSs are charged at R2 per sms (terms and conditions apply).
