Fortifi@ Radio #18 7 Things to Do While Waiting Character and Maturity Part1

All of us are waiting for something. The Music Ministry is perplexed and frustrated by national dilemmas and personal struggles. Waiting for change has also apparently left the music ministry apparently powerless. Has the Music Ministry been rendered powerless to influence the real answers to the dilemmas that have perplexed the music neighborhood? Christ is the answer! But the questions seem to obscure the answers. Psalm 27:14 Wait on the LORD: be of good courage, and he shall strengthen thine heart: wait, I say, on the LORD

Are you losing influence?

Waiting for a new CD/DVD project deal

Waiting for healing

Waiting to die

Waiting for someone to love us

Waiting for an answer from God

Waiting for greatness breakthrough

Waiting for our ship to come in

Waiting for the lottery

Some of the musicians who are waiting for God may be frustrated by delays. Unusual weight gain, writers block, loss of appetite, depression, interrupted sleeping patterns, and emotional and uncharacteristic reactions may accompany frustrated musicians experiencing a delay. The frustrated musician may feel that their dominate music gifts are not appreciated or utilized. Commonly, frustrated musicians may feel a loss of the aura of greatness. Further, discouraged musicians may feel a general sense of loss. Music task may seem menial and mundane.

Today, I have no message to the rebellious and enemies of God. I am stirred to speak to the musicians who are perplexed by waiting on God. Delay can be Satan’s deadly strategy. Missing God is deadly for the aspiring. Honestly, the passionate, impetuous, restrained or reserved musicians have missed the will of the Lord. Passionate and impetuous musicians probably are inclined to get ahead of Gods timing. In contrast, reticent, reserved and cautious musicians have missed God by getting behind His time table and plan.

The following measures causes God to act and opens the window of heaven:

  1. Obedience Deut 28

  2. Tithing mal 3:10

  3. Prayer Luke 3:21

  4. Persecution Acts 7

  5. Praise Acts 16

  6. Humility 2 Chronicles 7:14

Delay can be Satan’s deadly strategy. God answers your prayers with yes, no and many times wait. Waiting is often a demonic strategy. Postponement of pleasure can sabotage the faith in the music community. The vestibule of our aspirations leads to a long hallway. I began to realize that most of us linger in the hallway of time. The hallway of time conceals an enemy. There is a thief lurking in the Hallway called delay. The enemy of time is waiting on God. Delay came to rob and steal the dreams, prayers and aspirations of musicians. Are the musician’s prayers and aspirations wandering about the streets by day and sleeping in hallways at night.

In contrast, waiting on God is Godly strategy. Waiting on God builds mature believers. Waiting on God builds:

  1. Faith

  2. Patience

  3. Endurance

  4. Adaptation

    1. Endure helps us know that we can wait

    2. Helps us know that we can do without things

    3. Postpone pleasure

    4. Waiting can be a lifestyle

  1. Wait is a Godly command

    1. to wait, look for, hope, expect

                                                             i.      (Qal) waiting (participle)

                                                          ii.      (Piel)

1.    to wait or look eagerly for

2.    to lie in wait for

3.    to wait for, linger for

    1. to collect, bind together

                                                             i.      (Niphal) to be collected

  1. Wait for Three green lights to line up in your life.

  2. Don’t act before God

    1.  First be under command-God acts first

    2. Be ready to adjust to the new command-God instructs

    3. Be willing to wait for the commands

  3. Waiting for God means Pain.  Pain is the distance between answers

  4. Refuse to act before God acts.
