Uganda: Alpha Praise Invades La Bonita

Uganda: Alpha Praise Invades La Bonita

Kampala

THE Alpha Praise choristers launched their Gospel album, Ntendereza at Theatre La Bonita on Sunday. Although entrance was free, the good turnout, after the day's heavy downpour, proved that the mass choir, which is based at Praise Christian Centre, Sheraton Hotel, was highly endeared. The first song, Ntendereza set the mood for the audience. Lovers of R'n'B, urban contemporary praise, dance hall, Afro-beat and Kwasa Kwasa, were all catered for.

The Jz, a choir that comprises the children of Pastor Edith and Godfrey Kamese (the senior pastors of Praise Christian Centre), enthralled the audience.

The audience was also excited by Pastor Kamese, who as he launched the CD, cracked jokes about the literal translation of his name. He thanked the audience for supporting the choir's musical ministry, which he said, was powerful and effective. Kamese sold several CDs, whose proceeds would go towards the construction of the Praise Christian Temple at Ntinda.

Elijah Wasswa, the choir's trainer, took the credit for the exciting and edifying gospel concert, which some gospel music enthusiasts called the 'Alpha's spiritual invasion of Theatre La Bonita.'
