In line with one of Botswana's Vision 2016 pillars, three Maruapula High School students; Gaone Abotseng, Kago Mogotsi Caine and Kago Mosetse are pulling all stops by organizing two shows during the weekend in a bid to raise funds for an orphanage centre in Lekgoloboto.
The show which is being sponsored by The Voice Newspaper, All Kasi, Mafia Soul, Ideal Fashions, Podi, Ngwedi Botique and Shanaaz is set to thrill as artists such as the talented Hip-Hop rhymester, Scar, Magosi, DJ Khenzo and other performing students of Maruapula are anticipated to set the stage on fire with their music prowess. According to one of the organizers; Gaone Abotseng, the trio was inspired to raise funds after some woman came to their school assembly appealing to students to donate to the orphanage.
He noted that the show will be divided into two sessions.
Abotseng added that while the other show will be held today (Friday) at Maruapula, there will also be an after party the next day (Saturday) at the Lizard Lounge where patrons will be expected to fork out P30 before 12 midnight and P40 thereafter. "The Maruapula show will only be open to student and families while the Saturday show will be open to everybody including members of the public. The first 30 people to get in at the Lizard Lounge will get a free braii,"
He said the two shows have been put together with a quest to helping underprivileged children and students at Maruapula have so far donated clothes worth P8000.
"By hosting these two shows, we wanted to take it a bit further."Abotseng said.
