Platform Your Anointing and Assignment

YOUR HISTORY WITH GOD AFFECTS THE WORLD!

True to His Word, God intended to give the nation of Israel their inheritance, their land, but He had to tell the people: "I will not go up in your midst, lest I consume you on the way, for you are a stiff-necked people" (v. 3). Rather, He would send an angel to go before them that would drive out their enemies (v. 2).

What mercy! They were a stiff-necked people but God would send his angel to drive out their enemies. Who wouldn't want that? But look at this. Moses thought: You know what? That's not good enough! The promise of the inheritance is good, even the promise of the angel is good, but I want what's most important---God's presence!

Church, our challenge is this. Many of us have been satisfied with the angel; there's been lots of activity and miracles and we've been satisfied in that. But then we've drifted out of the tabernacle (see Part 1 regarding the tabernacle) and left the Secret Place of His presence, getting burned out, not even realizing we've left the place of intimacy. All the activity has taken priority. We love the prophetic encounters and experiences. But don't camp there! Don't be satisfied with the angels in this hour! Be like Moses who wanted God, Himself! More than anything he wanted God's presence to go with them as they took the Promised Land.

Of course, God answered the cry of Moses! He said, "My Presence will go with you, and I will give you rest" (v. 14). What a victory for Moses! Now why would God give such favor to him (and the nation of Israel)? Part of the answer is because Moses had history with the Lord, a history of intimacy and a relationship that was built up over the years. And so the Lord could say to Moses, "I will also do this thing that you have spoken; for you have found grace in My sight, and I know you by name" (v. 17).

With this in mind, I want you to understand there is a powerful place in intercession right now. This place is being offered to those that have a history of intimacy with God and for those that have embraced the tabernacle and the friendship of God. There's a scripture that says: "You shall not go out from the door of the tabernacle of meeting, lest you die, for the anointing oil of the Lord is upon you." (Lev 10:7). If you are heeding that scripture right now, the place of intercession is for you! God is bringing a new beginning---the anointing of the priestly ministry.

Only somebody that has a history of intimacy with God can pray the way Moses prayed. On more than one occasion Moses stood in the gap on behalf of his nation, and he even turned away God's wrath from coming upon the people (Ex. 32:11--14). He was drawing on, or counting on, his place of friendship and intercession with God, not for his own sake or his own needs. Now think about this. He was concerned about receiving mercy from the Lord for the nation and for God's very presence to go with them. He knew God's Presence would distinguish them from all the other surrounding nations (33:16).

Today, for those who are in transition in this season, prophetically I want to say that as you abide in the Secret Place, the tabernacle, God is offering you a powerful place in intercession in which things get done. That's the kind of season God wants to bring you into at this time---drawing on your history in Him and interceding for whatever God puts on your heart. Your history with God can affect the world! Like Moses you might be called to stand in intercession for your nation, or it might be other nations in the world; a very important assignment in perilous days such as these.

  "PLEASE, SHOW ME YOUR GLORY"

Right after Moses received God's favor (33:17) he wasted no time. He wanted to know the inner reality of who God is/was and so Moses asked the Lord, "Please, show me your glory" (v. 18). God responded by saying, "I will make all My goodness pass before you
. . ." (v.19). Now many believers think of God's glory in this context: glory cloud, pillar of cloud, a glory mist, glory liquid honey clouds, gold dust, or diamonds falling from heaven. However, how does the glory of the Lord manifest in this scripture? The answer is: God's goodness!

How many of you would like to have a visitation of a season of just God's goodness coming to you? You've asked God to show you the inner reality of who He is, and God is your friend so He says, "I will show you the inner reality of who I am. One way I am going to do it is I am going to bring goodness and kindness into your life and ministry because you wanted Me more than you wanted the angel."

Back to Moses! Look at what begins to take place in Exodus 33:21, 22: "And the LORD said, ‘Here is a place by Me, and you shall stand on the rock. So it shall be, while My glory passes by that I will put you in the cleft of the rock, and will cover you with My hand while I pass by.'" This is important for this hour if we are going to get where God wants us to go because the "cleft of the rock" is the only shelter we have.

This is a time of being hidden in Christ, hidden in the cleft of the rock. That spiritual position only happens when we go very low, and if we do that, the glory will "pass by" and we'll be able to receive of God's goodness. But only people right now that are getting back to the Secret Place and hiding in the cleft of the rock are going to be able to receive the goodness that's about to drop from heaven.

Look at what hiding brings---"Now the LORD descended in the cloud and stood with him there, and proclaimed the name of the LORD" (34:5). This is God, Himself, saying, "Here I am!" Proclaiming Himself. It's a visitation! Then it moves from an encounter with God to God making a covenant, promising to do marvels "such as have not been done in all the earth, nor in any nation" (v. 10). Listen. If you will embrace the season of hiddenness, now, visitation will be upon you. Hiddenness brings a personal visitation of the Lord, Himself. It releases the works of the Lord.

For your nation, today, don't you want the promise of God's marvels to be manifested? I live in Canada and I want my nation to be one in which works would be done whereby other nations would marvel at what God is doing in our nation. Remember last week I shared a promise God gave me for the next season---"I will do marvels such as have not been done in all the earth. In all the people among whom you are, they shall see the work of the Lord. It is an awesome thing that I will do for you." Nothing is impossible for God!

So in that hidden place, not being satisfied with just an angel, going on to embrace remaining in the tabernacle, embracing the call to hiddenness, will release a powerful visitation of the Lord Himself, or what I call a "might visitation." This will release works like we've never seen before. Marvels!

You know, when Moses came down from Mount Sinai with the Ten Commandments he did not know that his face was shining (Ex. 34:29). Moses lost sight of himself. He was totally unaware of how much glory was upon him. I believe that the one reason we are not walking in a greater degree of the manifestation of the glory is we are too aware of the glory we have. We are too aware of the gift and the influence that we have. But if we will lose sight of ourselves, there will be a glory that comes that is greater than anything that we've seen. And that can only happen when we empty ourselves and we are consumed with the face of the King and doing what the King has called us to do; and nothing else matters anymore.

Listen. We do need a coming revival that has power and that has resurrection in it. But if we, as a church, would get so consumed in being in the presence of the King and in the tabernacle, like Joshua, wanting the inner reality of who the Lord is, then God will visit us. That visitation will release the wonders and the works that we not only want him to release, but we need him to release because it's the one thing that makes us distinct and different from any other nation and religion. But as I just said, it begins by emptying ourselves.

So allow the Holy Spirit to minister to your heart so that your season of change and transition leads you to the tabernacle, the Secret Place of His presence. In that place you will get your bearings and God will bring you understanding and revelation. You'll see restoration take place in your life and you'll be anointed with fresh oil to press through your transition to breakthrough and victory!
