The Seventh Annual "2007 Holy Hip Hop Artist Showcase and Music Awards" will be held in Atlanta as part of the Holy Hip Hop Week, which runs from Jan. 8-17.

The event will be held Jan. 12-13 at Center Stage Arena and is strategically placed leading up to Martin Luther King Day on Jan. 15. The show is hosted by the Fellowship of Holy Hip Hop.

The main focus of the awards is to honor “ministers of the gospel” worldwide whom have impacted people with God. This goes along with the Fellowship of Holy Hip Hop’s ministry goal.

The group’s site proclaims, “Our mission is to take the Gospel to the streets through the global proliferation of spiritually-enlightening Holy Hip Hop ministry, music & entertainment glorifying the Lord.”

The show is anticipating a sold-out crowd, reporting that over 140 cities, 38 states, and 5 nations have been represented in the past. Emcees for the show include eDDie Velez, Kelly Glow, Canton Jones, and Kurtis Blow.

As an important aspect of the showcase, multiple people have been announced as 2007 Holy Hip Hop Music Awards Honorees – those recognized annually for “invaluable service, sacrifice, labor and contributions to the community, uplifting and positively impacting the hearts, minds and souls of children, youth and adults, and in furtherance of the world-wide proliferation of spiritually-enlightening hip hop ministry, music and entertainment glorifying GOD.”

This year’s honorees include: EMc, God's Arm, Japhia Life, Tony Stone, Shei Atkins, Bobby Bishop, Lecrae, Knine, J.Kwest, Dynamite X, and Kennie Randall.

Also involved with the "2007 Holy Hip Hop Artist Showcase and Music Awards" as Tri-Alliance Strategic Partners are RapFest and Flavor.Fest, who are based in the Bronx, N.Y., and Tampa, Fla., respectively.

The new Crowne Plaza Atlanta-Marietta will be the host hotel for many of the week’s events, including the 2007 Holy Hip Hop Summit, Ministerial/DJ Classes, and Press Rooms.

More information about the week’s events is available at the Holy Hip Hop website.
