Any words that diminish honor will create a backlash

ARETHA OFFENDED BY BEYONCE'S TINA TURNER INTRO: Franklin upset over use of the word 'Queen.' *Aretha Franklin says she didn't appreciate Beyonce referring to Tina Turner as "the queen" before the duo's fiery performance at the Grammy's Sunday night  As previously reported, Franklin – known as the Queen of Soul – released a statement earlier this week addressing Beyonce's introduction of Turner during their duet Sunday night. With Franklin seated in the front row, Beyonce told the audience: "Stand on your feet and give it up for the queen." Aretha later stated: "I am not sure of whose toes I may have stepped on or whose ego I may have bruised between the Grammy writers and Beyonce. However, I dismissed it as a cheap shot for controversy."

Recognition of what you don’t have and what you do have. Honor is the recognition of another’s value. The Music Ministry that has character recognizes the poor in spirit...the least among you all.  You become great by accepting, not asserting.

“The Spirit of the Lord GOD is upon Me,
Because the LORD has anointed Me
To preach good tidings to the poor;
He has sent Me to heal the brokenhearted,
To proclaim liberty to the captives,
And the opening of the prison to those who are bound;
 To proclaim the acceptable year of the LORD,

Honour or honor, is the evaluation of a person’s trustworthiness and social status based on that individual's espousals and actions. Honour is deemed exactly what determines a person's character: whether or not the person reflects honesty, respect, integrity, or fairness. (Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia)

Dr Samuel Johnson, in his A Dictionary of the English Language (1755), defined honour as having several senses,
  1. the first of which was "nobility of soul, magnanimity, and a scorn of meanness." This sort of honour derives from the perceived virtuous conduct and personal integrity of the person endowed with it.
  2. Johnson also defined honour in relationship to "reputation" and "fame"; to "privileges of rank or birth", and as "respect" of the kind which "places an individual socially and determines his right to precedence." This sort of honour is not so much afunction of moral or ethical excellence, as it is a consequence of power.
  3. Finally, with respect to women, honour may be synonymous with "chastity" or "virginity".
The Music Industry needs a code of conduct. A code of conduct is a set of rules outlining the responsibilities of or proper practices for an individual or organization. Related concepts include ethical codes and honor codes. In its 2007 International Good Practice Guidance, Defining and Developing an Effective Code of Conduct for Organizations, the International Federation of Accountants [1] provided the following working definition:  "Principles, values, standards, or rules of behavior that guide the decisions, procedures and systems of an organization in a way that (a) contributes to the welfare of its key stakeholders, and (b) respects the rights of all constituents affected by its operations."

Please listen! Beware of an industry that extols awardees giving honor to God while ignoring their memberships inappropriate public behavior. We are our brothers keeper! Discern and beware of Grammy acceptance speeches replete with acceptance speeches doting God, mother apple pie and America.

Music Ministry acceptance speeches (giving honor to God) are also coded in the churches in America.
First giving honor to God, who isthe head my life, pastor, saints and friends.  I'd like to say I'm glad to be in the house of the Lord , one more time. Cause he brought me from a mighty long way.  I coulda been dead, sleeping in my grave, but God is good all the time, and all the time, God is good. He's a bridge over troubled waters. He's a mother to the motherless, and a father  to the fatherless, a doctor in a sick room, and a lawyer in the courtroom! (smile) He's the lilly of the valley, a bright and morning star. He got up early one Sunday morning, with all power in His hands.
Pray for me that I grow stronger in the Lord
Perhaps, Gods character question to the Music Industry is summed up in Gen 4:9
9 God said to Cain, "Where is Abel your brother?"
   He said, "How should I know? Am I his babysitter?"
 Grammy acceptance speeches that mention God, America Mother and apple pie honor God with the lips...don't necessarily honor God with their conduct. Discern, a concert hall full of Music industry luminaries giving acceptance speeches. In accepting her third award of the evening, Underwood said, "I'd like to thank God for giving me so much that I do not deserve. And I'm crying again, because this is what I do at awards shows, so I'm sorry. ... My friends, my family, fans, thank you. God bless you. And, of course, the place that started it all. ... I would notbe here if it weren't for American Idol."

Your character is defined by what you do, not what you say or believe.

<FONTFACE=VERDANA size="3">
Every choice you make helps define the kind of person you are choosing to be.

Good character requires doing the right thing, even when it is costly or risky.

You don't have to take the worst behavior of others as a standard for yourself. You can choose to be better than that.

What you do matters, and one person can make a big difference.

The payoff for having good character is that it makes you a better person and it makes the world a better place.
