This year's Hip Hop Summit takes place on Boxing Day at Sabrina's Pub starting 4.30pm. Alliance Francaise and Bavubuka All*Starz, a youth organisation that is out to provide positive change and growth for impoverished communities, are organising the convention.
Bavubuka All*Starz uses a network of urban youth from Uganda and around the globe with similar visions and interests in their communities and united by the power of Hip-Hop. The annual 'do' gives a platform to the youth to showcase their talents
Some of the acts lined up at the 'do' include Babaluku & Tshila representing Bataka Squad, Klear Kut, Lyrical G, Maurice Kirya, Young Nick, Deppi, Sylvester & Abrams, New Hope Squad, Benon & Vamposs, Michael Ross, Xenson, Emma Katya Nicky Nola and Abenganda.
There will also be a showcase of Hip Hop fashion by Latif Designs and a rap display of Luga Flow, where delivery is done in Luganda. The summit will also promote the Luga Flow Flavor Camp, an initiative meant to promote artistes who rap in their mother tongues. This is intended to help the talented youth of Uganda gain confidence in promoting their culture on a global scale
